MY FIRST PLACE IN SAN ANTONIO
My way of living my life was inspired at an early age by an American writer of DO IT books.
There I read, that most people work to make a living, then there are a few who figure out
how to work to make a living. I belong to the later part. But then I have also had a number of real hardships in life which have certainly added to my choice of lifestyle. We only live once and I have had partners who have passed way too early. My first wife Isobel from Ireland in 1998 and Synnove from Norway in 2005 - both from cancer. So, the way I figure it, the least I can do here, this moment in history - is to live my life to the fullest.
Working with, what I really want even if that is a difficult way for ends to meet many times, but at least I do what I want...
So, when I was looking for my second studio and a place to call home in San Antonio in January 2013 - high rent with a lot of amenities was not on the top of my list. But a place which could be suitable as a studio and also have a space where I could work producing
my limited edition prints. And last a spot, big enough for a bed and somewhere to cook...
When I came to San Antonio just after Thanksgiving 2011, I had nothing. With nothing I mean no parts of which you can call to be a part of a home. Since then I accumulated some items, like a table to put my computer on, a couple of shelving units to have paints and brushes on and some other art related stuff.
I managed eventually to buy a cheap bed at Walmart. From my pizza friend here in SA I got a chair ready for the dump....anyway I was able to replace that chair with another chair ready for the dump today (May 2016)...but this looks nicer,,,
